This One Thing
No one can be compared to God, enthroned on high!
He stoops down to look upon the earth and the skies. TPT Psalm 113:4
I have this thing.
This one thing.
That always trips me up.
I always worry about what other people think about me.
- As a mother
- As a wife
- As a minister
- As a biblical counselor
- As a writer
- As a friend
- As a sister
- Just as me.
And it’s something I am consciously aware of.
However, it rears its ugly head every time I’m in the room with someone I compare myself to.
And that is just the problem.
I shouldn’t care about the comparison.
The only one I need to impress is God himself.
So I am going to go back and remember a series I wrote called
The Audience of One. I hope you enjoy the journey with me.
The first post will be up Wednesday.
I have a history of addiction as well.
I know how easily it is for me to turn towards something other than God to fill me.
I have at times desired the blessings of God and not the Blesser.
The healing and not the Healer.
The provision and not the Provider, etc.
May we all turn towards an Audience of One.
Until then Beloved, Shalom.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
