When It All Comes Crashing Down
What do you do when your plans fail?
I had the plane tickets. I had the conference tickets.
Sure, we could have gone, but we would have had no transportation and no way to eat for the five days we would have been at the International Pastors and Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida next week.
So we had no choice but to cancel our plans if we didn’t want to lose the opportunity to use our tickets in the next year to fly.
So I mourned the loss of the opportunity to learn and to be built up in the Spirit.
My soul needed pouring into.
So my plans came crashing down around me.
Yes, there was massive disappointment too because my husband and I looked forward to a weekend away to celebrate our thirteen year anniversary coming up on the 4th of May.
So I was really bummed out.
So I shed my tears and I told my man that I was at a loss. I just didn’t understand. I thought the decision had been the right one, and I was upset that I had spent money on a non-refundable very expensive ticket.
So I came inside. I laid on the bed. And I said to myself, “What do you do when your plans fail?”
So I downloaded an App. Hymn Lyrics.
I began to sing away the blues to His praises.
Then as my spirit lifted I rested in the knowledge that one day I would thank Him that His sovereign hand was turning me in another direction. Although I couldn’t understand it now.
What was good was just not His best for us at this time.
Then I took a nap and later woke asking Him to guide me into what was next.
Just because I was hoping for direction at the conference didn’t mean it couldn’t come from time in His word.
So now I will sit and wait to hear from Him this morning.
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21 NIV
