The Value of HOPE

Today I would like to welcome my friend Darryl Bodkin to the blog.  His words of inspiration will surely leave you will hope.

Beloved <3 Melinda

In today’s competitive and challenging environment, it is very crucial that we have a sense of stability in the midst of life’s obstacles. Hope is like an anchor. Balancing work, the hustle of shuttling children from activity to activity, and personal development can become mentally, spiritually and emotionally draining. However, when we are tempted to give up, HOPE, spurs us on. Here are three benefits of HOPE.

There is HOPE in Discipline

Most parents want their children to grow up to be positive contributors to society. As children grow older they experience so many changes as a result of biological developments. The pull and tug of peer pressure adds increased demands on our children. But there is HOPE in discipline. The Bible provides this assurance in Proverbs 19:18 “Discipline your children, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to their death”. This week do not neglect to discipline your child and reap the rewards in the long term.

HOPE gives future expectation

Are you concerned about your future? Well those who live faithfully and righteously can be confident of a bright tomorrow. Those who are bent on living against the will of God may enjoy temporary rewards but they have no HOPE when they leave this physical earth. Be encouraged that your righteousness has a future value. As Proverbs 24:20 “the evildoer has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out”.

There is renewal in HOPE

Are you weary? Have the issues of life caused you to lose faith in your dreams? It happens to most of us, if not all. The moments of deep challenge and weakness ought to direct us to get greater hope. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that “those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”. Regardless of what your experience may have been for the year, you can rely on your HOPE in the Lord to renew your strength.

This week, you can overcome and persevere through all that life would bring as you rely on HOPE as an anchor. How has hope benefited you?
