Worth Ship Wednesday: He Finishes It

Today’s praise worthy meditation comes from Chapter 16 of 1 Samuel.  Read about how Saul first met David and then continue on.

Let’s pick up with DISTRESS!

Saul had a distressing spirit from the Lord after the Spirit of the Lord left him.

His servants suggested that if someone played music then Saul would be soothed.

A servant knew David played the harp well, and that God was with him.

When Saul asked the servants to provide someone to play soothing music the servant told Saul about David.
So, Saul called for David.  When David came Saul liked him so much he made him, his armour-bearer.  He sent word to David’s father, Jesse, that he wanted him to stand before him, and so David did.

When David played the harp for Saul he was soothed because the distressing spirit left him.  Just in case you read that too fast I am going to say that again.   When David played the harp for Saul he was soothed because the distressing spirit left him!

A PSALMIST Too

David was a psalmist.  Imagine, not that it says so, but imagine that the man who wrote the Psalms was playing the harp.  Close your eyes and picture it.

Do you think he didn’t sing as well?  How could he not? Being a worshipper myself I find it hard to believe that the Psalmist didn’t put words to his harp playing.

Praise to God is huge in spiritual warfare.  The enemy cannot stand against it.  First of all it creates confusion and he flees.  2 Chronicles 20  In this chapter the enemies turn on each other due to confusion.  Why?
The Lord inhabits the praises of His people.  He shows up when we praise Him!  Hallelujah.  In His presence no evil can stand. (I for one am up for confusing the one who has been trying to confuse the people of God.)

What do think?  Do you think the Psalmist sang when he played?

How will you face DISTRESS Beloved? With a DISTRESS call!

It’s time to lift Him up because He is more than worthy.  The side effect is another thing to praise about.  When you are praising God you are telling the enemy that what he started he is gonna be sorry for because God Himself is going to finish it.

He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and Ending of our praise.  When we choose to praise Him we are joining in on what began with eternity, and what will continue for eternity more.  Time to get your PRAISE on, we started with DISTRESS, but HE finishes it when we PRAISE!
