Dented Carpet

This week the topic is reflections on our journey of faith.  So I thought I would share about my current walk.

During this first week of autumn, the fall weather has returned.  Chilly mornings, lovely afternoons, and cool nights. I have always loved the season of fall.  It is snuggle weather after all.

In the morning the children leave for school bundled in their jackets, and return with them stuffed in their bookbags.  When the sun goes down we are looking for our socks and slippers to warm our feet.  A change from flip flops and sunscreen a few weeks ago.

I have also noticed the change in the amount of day light, and the change in schedules that is causing us to yawn and wonder if it is bed time too early in the night.

In my faith walk the weather has been the same.

In the morning I am chilled to the bone until I get a chance to pray and spend time in God’s presence.  It warms my soul enough to face the day.  During the day when I get a chance I find myself curling up with a blanket, prayer, my bible, and a book that will lead me to the heart of God.  At night I am exhausted and fall into bed.

While I lie there I recall how it is fall in my faith walk…..

Fall on my knees in prayer. (James 5:16)
Fall down and get back up and try again. (Proverbs 24:16)
Fall into the arms of Jesus and tell Him all about it. (Matthew 28:11)
Fall exhausted into the secret place for respite.  (Psalm 91:1)
Fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
Fall into loving arms of forgiveness. (1 John 1:9)
Fall in love with Jesus all over again. (1 John 4:19)
Fall asleep as tears flow down my face. (Psalm 30:5)

Hand falls on the alarm clock and the day repeats and there is more falling, but I keep faith in the One who will still be there to help me up, pick me up, lift me up, straighten me up, and love me up.

Denting the carpet in prayer this week for Israel, for our country, our countrymen, for others in seasons of fall and winter in their faith walks.  I pray for you too, Beloved. <3 Mindy
